Juhannuskallio is relatively small but very beautiful part of Valtavaara-Pyhävaara nature reserve right next to slopes of Ruka ski resort. Juhannuskallio Cliffs is one of the most beautiful places in Ruka to enjoy the snowy sceneries and clourful sunsets during winter months.
Starting at the end of Juhannuskalliontie road, the trail meanders to the top of Juhannuskallio Cliffs and back along the same route. The trail has some steep sections but is otherwise easy to walk with snowshoes.

The best chances to see the sceneries with the snow caked trees is from January to the beginning of March, depending on the year.
After the snowshoe walk in Juhannuskallio, head to Ruka Peak, grab a hot chocolate and get cozy by the fireplace.
