Christmas on the lake – magical moments by the water
Achensee Christmas offers an extraordinary experience in the run-up to Christmas. The festively illuminated Achensee shipping company boat connects the lovingly designed Advent markets in Pertisau and Achenkirch. During a trip across the lake, guests can enjoy the atmospheric floating Advent market and regional specialities. The Christmas markets in the region are each an experience in themselves – but they all share a love of tradition, music, craftsmanship and a warm atmosphere.
A history steeped in tradition
Achensee Schifffahrt looks back on a long and eventful past. Pioneer Albert Wildauer, himself a captain, got shipping on Lake Achensee going with the construction of a steam-powered ship. The "MS St. Josef", delivered in parts in 1887 and transported to Pertisau by horses, was the beginning of a success story – and the foundation stone for the modern fleet that today delights guests from all over the world.
