Circular route from Schömberg-Bieselsberg to Hirsau Monastery

The bike route is very varied, and Hirsau Monastery is always worth a visit. It once had great significance. Evidence of this can be seen in the foundations of the huge monastic church, of which only the Owl Tower has remained. The rest of the church served as a "quarry" for Hirsau and Calw. The former hunting lodge had a freely suspended floor in the large hall that started to swing in time when dancing. In the Marian Chapel, the ceiling of the library on the second floor is paneled with spruce wood, because spruce was rare in the Black Forest at the time and was considered particularly valuable. The current café was formerly a carriage house, later a secret gymnasium, and now offers delicious drinks with sonorous names; of course, there is also cake.
