Whirlwind Day in Wildschönau

The Whirlwind Day is all about sharing the outdoors together. Under the motto “Outdoors Together,” families set out on a varied adventure hike featuring play stations, puzzle stations, and nature stations along the route. With no time pressure, but plenty of exercise, the joy of discovery, and little adventures, hiking becomes a special experience for young and old alike.

Along the route, families collect puzzle pieces that are put together at the finish line. Only when all the pieces are in place can Toni the dragon be freed—a shared adventure full of team spirit and the joy of discovery.

Even the journey to the start is a special experience: All participating families are taken together by the slow train to the starting point of the hike. From there, the route winds its way up and down through nature, past discovery stations and refreshment stops. The route is intentionally designed to be flexible—families can hike back down to the valley earlier at any time, depending on their fitness level, the children’s age, and their mood, thus creating their own personalized hiking experience.
