The back riding round is a perfect tour for the start into the bike summer. This round leads comfortably uphill and downhill from Maria Alm towards Saalfelden.
A stop at the Gasthof Hinterreit is a must.
Start at the TVB Maria Alm. From there, drive through the village towards the entrance to the town, where you will find the Hochkönig Krone. Turn left here and drive along the main road for about 10 metres. At the first turn-off, turn right up to the Schlossberg - there is a small slope of aboutof about 70 metres. Once you have reached the top, continue to the right in the direction of Gasthof Hinterreit (refreshment stop). Now continue along the municipal road to Almdorf, from where you continue on the Tauern cycle path. Cross the main road and continue along it - uphill to the right in the direction of the golf course. (path no. 11). When you arrive at the Golfstüberl (refreshment stop), you have the option of circling the golf course and then returning to Maria Alm along the Tauern Cycle Path.

Coming from Salzburg: Take the A10 motorway to the Bischofshofen exit, then take the B311 towards Bischofshofen. Follow the Hochkönig Bundesstraße/B164 to Maria Alm.
Coming from Innsbruck/ Kufstein: Take the Loferer Straße/B178 in the direction of St. Johann i.T., then follow the Hochkönig Bundesstraße/B164 via Saalfelden to Maria Alm.
A valid vignette is required to use the Austrian motorway and motorway network. It is also compulsory to carry a first-aid kit, warning triangle and high-visibility waistcoat. Further information can be found under Asfinag.
