On 09.06.1996, the then Rhineland-Palatinate Minister of Culture Rose Götte opened the "Sculpture Park Oberwesel."
Together with the DiDa-Art chairwoman Barbara Höhn, she presented the first route in the north of the Rhineland-Palatinate Sculpture Trail in Oberwesel to the public. At the romantically and touristically popular Middle Rhine, the sculpture park shows how exciting the dialogue between modern art and old architecture can be.
The Sculpture Park Oberwesel is not really a closed unit. Rather, it consists of individual pieces of art that lead the interested viewer from the Rhine installations through the vineyards up to the Rhine heights near Urbar.
The Trollweg, which has grown over the years, offers an interesting and amusing change between the main exhibition areas on the Rhine and on the heights.
For the return journey, the new Oelsberg art trail by Michael Apitz and Volker Boch is recommended.
And since you are repeatedly on the World Heritage Trail, the Rhine Castle Trail and/or the Middle Rhine Dream Loop on this route, there are also great views in abundance and interesting photo motifs, such as the 3 m high BUGA logo made of corten steel.

Sturdy footwear is recommended.
The hike can be culturally and historically complemented with a city wall tour in Oberwesel.
