PRAGELATO Val Troncea: the valley of flowers

Easy route. It is possible to obtain a pass from the Park Authority that allows people with disabilities to travel the valley floor road with a motorized vehicle and enjoy the natural beauty and panoramas of the valley.

We recommend:

- Contacting alpine guides and/or nature escorts;

- Checking weather reports and free apps;

- Not starting the excursion alone or informing a trusted person of the intended itinerary;

- Remembering that the indicated travel times for the various routes are average and indicative and can vary greatly depending on weather conditions and your abilities; changing environmental conditions can significantly reduce safety levels.

At the Plan roundabout, on S.P. 23 towards Sestriere, take the direction VAL TRONCEA and continue for about 600 meters until you find a large dirt parking lot where you can leave your car. Payment may be required at certain times of the year.

ARRIVA bus line from Turin, stop "Rotonda di Plan." From the roundabout, take via Rohrbach and first reach Plan then Pattemouche, about 600 m on foot. After the snowmaking basin and the large parking area, you encounter a bridge crossing the Chisone stream: you can choose to cross the bridge and continue on the dirt valley floor road or take the path on the left side of the stream.

Parking at Laval, continuing from Pattemouche, beyond the "Pount daz Itrèi" bridge for another two kilometers. Usually, this summer parking is paid, but it shortens the route by 2 km.

In summer, there is a shuttle service to Troncea or to Alpe Meys (it is advisable to inquire at the Tourist Office).

It is not necessary to bring a packed lunch as along the route or with short detours, you can reach the Mulino di Laval Refuge or the Troncea Refuge. Drinking water along the walk.

At the beginning of the route, at "Pount daz Itrèi" locality, it is advisable to take the dirt road on the left side as motor vehicles do not have access, making it quieter and safer.

At the Lendeniera fountain, you can observe a spring covered by a moss cushion (Cratoneuron commutatum and Drepanocladus revolvens) responsible for noticeable travertinization phenomena.

It is good practice to:

- Not throw waste in the environment but carry it with you;

- Respect private property and fenced areas;

- Open and close the electrified wires of shepherds' enclosures with the appropriate handles;

- Always keep the dog on a leash;

- Always carry a garbage bag;

- Keep distance and do not approach shepherd dogs protecting flocks.

In the evening and morning hours, marmots, chamois, ibexes, eagles can be encountered. The route can also be done on horseback or by bicycle.
