Les Crocs - around the Marquenterre

In the heart of the Marquenterre, a loop through the pine forest and dunes, called "les Crocs" in Picard.
Around the Marquenterre, a paradise for birds and kingdom of the horse, come enjoy a walk combining sandy beach and pine forest. From the parking lot on Rue du Bout d'Amont, start the route via the access path to the sea. Follow the trail through the shrub dune and the pine grove. This 3.6 km path is quite challenging, but what a reward when discovering the sea and its vast beach. After passing the dune, follow the upper beach. You enter the Baie de Somme Nature Reserve, where markers guide you on the conduct to adopt in this remarkable area. In the distance, you can see the bouchots, these wooden stakes are used for mussel farming.
Caution: this route is not passable at high tide during strong tide coefficients (>100).
At the tip of St-Quentin, follow the dyke of the Marquenterre Park. Four observation points have been set up to watch birds without disturbing them. The Marquenterre Park, an ornithological reserve, is nearby. Before the sluice bridge, take the shepherds' path. Take the warrens' way and pass near the equestrian center. Take the Matelots path then Rue du Bout d'Amont to return to the parking lot.
