Mellonlahti is located about 1 km downstream from the Imatrankoski bridge. Currently, Mellonlahti is separated from Vuoksi by an embankment and forms its own ecosystem since Vuoksi water does not flow through it. The surroundings of Mellonlahti consist of lush grove vegetation. On Kuukansaari island in Mellonlahti, there is a campfire site accessible via a bridge from the embankment road or the shoreline path. There is no firewood service at the campfire site, so bring your own firewood for your trip! Fishing permits for Mellonlahti are sold in the Vuoksi fishing park. The nature trail presenting the origin, vegetation, and ecosystem of Mellonlahti also passes through Mellonmäki, which offers good views over Imatrankoski and the neighboring town of Svetogorski. The total length of the trail is about 3 km.
Maintenance and upkeep of the Mellonlahti nature route are the responsibility of the city of Imatra.
The Mellonlahti nature route starting from Inkeri square passes through the State Hotel park to the riverbed and then follows the shore downstream to Mellonlahti. An additional loop to the Mellonmäki viewpoint is possible. There are also cultural and historical sites along the route. The trail length is about 3 kilometers.
