In winter, both those returning to alpine skiing and the whole family will find the perfect spot in the Tirol resort. The lift access to the Alpbachtal Wildschönau Ski Resort, with its 145 kilometers of family-friendly slopes, is just 250 meters away, and the cross-country ski trail is about 100 meters away. There's also plenty to do off-piste, including the three toboggan runs and winter hiking trails. Ski tourers (even beginners) will find a paradise in the Wildschönau.

The resort is romantically situated at the confluence of two mountain streams, directly at the entrance to the Franciscan Trail (also accessible with strollers and wheelchairs), which connects the villages of Niederau and Oberau past the "z'Bach" Museum and the Wildschönau outdoor swimming pool. The "Alpincenter Wildschönau" offers programs for individualists with its trained mountain and ski guides (ski touring, freeriding, snowshoeing, ice climbing, avalanche courses).
