Circular hike - Frankenstein - Bad Salzungen

This varied circular route starts at the parking lot at Kunstruine Frankenstein, an interesting art project that focuses on the historic Frankenstein Castle. From here, the path leads on well-maintained trails to Frankenstein Castle, which impresses with its ruins and fantastic views over the Werra Valley.

After exploring the castle, the route continues down to the Werra Valley bike path. This runs along the Werra River and offers a relaxed passage with picturesque views of the river and surrounding meadows. The gentle riverside paths invite a short break before the trail leads onto the Werra Castle Trail.

The Werra Castle Trail leads through idyllic forest passages with repeated great views over the Werra Valley. After an enjoyable walk on this historic long-distance hiking trail, the circular route closes and leads back to the starting point at the parking lot at Kunstruine Frankenstein.
