The road climbs the vineyard slope leading to Lôro and Pianezzo, site of the discovery of a Gallo-Roman necropolis and the Church of Saints James and Philip. After leaving Pianezzo, the road continues towards Vellano, the first of the five hamlets of the Municipality of S. Antonio.
After Pianezzo and before Vellano, keep right and avoid the two detours to Paudo. Shortly after Vellano you reach Carmena, location of the Town Hall and the church of S. Antonio. Further on, crossing the Melirolo valley, you arrive at Melera and finally at Carena (958 m a.s.l.), the end of the route, which is located just before the oratory of San Bernardino.
On the way back, a detour to Paudo is recommended, a beautiful village set on a panoramic terrace.
Beyond Carena, the dirt road leads to the archaeological area of the old furnace and hammer (active at the end of the 1700s), which is on the Iron Route, a cross-border thematic route (see website). From the Hammer, you reach the Alpe del Giumello (1594 m a.s.l.) and then the San Jorio Pass (2012 m a.s.l.) or the Bocchetta di Sommafiume (1925 m a.s.l.).
