Someo-Capanna Alzasca-Cevio

The route traverses a number of alps, where fresh cheese can be bought; other attractions include typical Vallemaggia rustici (simple stone houses) and vantage points. The path meanders deeper and deeper into the pristine Soladino valley, the colour of the vegetation changing the higher you go. The variety keeps you entertained during this long stretch.

Coming out of the wood, a wide green alp opens out and the Capanna Alzasca emerges, enthroned against an imposing mountain backdrop. The refuge is small and cosy, yet offers every luxury imaginable. It's attended from late May until mid-October (self-catering the rest of the year). Your reward for your exertions: the silence and the distant views.
