Hike to the Krinnkapelle in Hintermoos

You start from the parking lot at the Hintermoos ski center. Follow trail no. 11 past the Eggeralm and continue your way towards Geralmen. Shortly before you reach the Geralmen, you will see forestry road no. 12a on the left. If you have enough time, a short detour to the Geralmen is worth it, where you will find the managed and rustic Jagglhütte. Alternatively, you can follow forestry road no. 12a, which leads you directly to the Krinnkapelle. Before you reach the Krinnkapelle, you also have the option to take a detour via trail no. 12 to the Lettenalm (not managed). Trail no. 12 also takes you back to your starting point in Hintermoos, or you can return the same way.

Self-assessment: Before every mountain tour, check your physical condition and realistically assess your strength as well as that of your companions – especially your children! Surefootedness and a head for heights are often very important!

Planning and preparation: Plan every intended mountain tour carefully in advance. Hiking maps and guides as well as advice from alpine clubs and locals such as mountain guides and hut keepers can be helpful.

Equipment: In the mountains, you need appropriate equipment and clothing, especially sturdy, high shoes with a grippy sole. Weather and cold protection are indispensable as the weather can often change unexpectedly.

Togetherness: Observe the 10 rules for proper behavior with grazing animals and do not leave any litter in nature!

Do not dislodge stones: Do not dislodge stones as this can seriously endanger other hikers. Marked areas with danger of falling rocks should be crossed as quickly and carefully as possible.

Turn back in time: This is no shame but a sign of wisdom. It becomes necessary if the weather changes, fog falls, or if the path is too difficult or not in good condition.

Arrival from Salzburg: Take the A10 motorway to the Bischofshofen exit, then take the B311 towards Bischofshofen. Follow the Hochkönig federal road/B164 to Maria Alm.
Arrival from Innsbruck/Kufstein: Take the Loferer Straße/B178 towards St. Johann i.T., then via the Hochkönig federal road/B164 via Saalfelden to Maria Alm.
A valid toll sticker is required for using the Austrian motorway and express road network. Carrying a first aid kit, warning triangle and safety vest is also mandatory. More information is available at Asfinag.
