HOHE TAUERN PANORAMA TRAIL | Stage 09: Pinzgauer Hütte | Uttendorfer Hochsonnbergalm/Uttendorf-Pinzgauer Hütte

From the northern end of the Uttendorfer Hochsonnbergalm, walk through the familiar gate and follow the hiking trail to the right over the edge of the terrain back to the original route of the Pinzgau Walk. Along the southern slopes, you walk past a wayside cross and several huts towards Klammscharte (1,993 m) and on to Rohrertörl (1,918 m), where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge mountains.

At the eastern end of the Rohrertörl, we recommend a short detour to the Piesendorfer Hochsonnbergalm for a refreshment stop before returning to the trail. Continue eastwards at the same altitude to the Kesselscharte (1,844 m). There, leave the Pinzgauer Spaziergang and follow a path sharply to the right down to the road, then turn left onto the hiking trail that leads you directly to the Pinzgauer Hütte (1,700 m).

Regardless of the not very long stage, suitable weather is required, because the trail leads close to the crest and sometimes there are only traces of the path visible (although well signposted).

You need alpine hiking equipment for the Hohe Tauern Panorama Trail:
