TG08 Loseggalm/Mahdalm tour Annaberg from Russbach

First, we follow the Hornspitzrunde until we merge into the Edtalmrunde TG 09. Then we follow the Edtalmrunde until we reach the Donnerkogelbahn. Alternatively, during operating hours, we can take the Hornspitzbahn up to the Russbacher Horn and from there go to the Edtalmhütte and then continue along the Edtalmrunde to the Donnerkogelbahn.  From the Donnerkogelbahn, we start uphill, passing the Alpendorf Dachstein West towards the south and after almost 2 km reach a forest road that leads us flat and winding through the woods. After a short asphalt section, we reach the Mauerreith parking lot at the Alm. From here, except for mountain bikers, general driving prohibition applies. From here, the forest road winds uphill steadily in numerous switchbacks and after about 10 km you are faced with a decision at the fork – left to Loseggalm or right to Mahdalm. You can't go wrong: Both Alm are rustic, beautifully located, and invite you to a well-deserved rest; ideally, you should visit both. No matter what you decide, the return route follows the same path and then along the Edtalmrunde back to Russbach.

If you plan to hike to the Mahdriedl after the bike tour, please don't forget hiking boots in your backpack. The climb leads over an alpine trail.
