It's advisable to plan a short stop at one or more wineries. In the Palatinate, the saying goes: “Wanns Licht brennt is uff!” – meaning: you can always ring for a small tasting. If you want to visit a particular winemaker, you should arrange an appointment in advance.
Of course, during the cycling tour, you should not only taste wine. Along the routes, there are wine cafés, wine bars, and seasonally open farm taverns offering Palatinate specialties as a good basis for further tastings.
For a perfect Winzer circular cycling route experience, some wineries also offer accommodation – in modern double rooms with a magnificent view, in the historic town center, and some even have parking spaces for motorhomes. What better prospects for a wine- and pleasure-filled cycling holiday?
FOR YOUR INFORMATION: The cycle route will receive new signage in 2026. Please do not be surprised if you encounter the two different logos along the route as shown in the pictures.

Sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, sun and rain protection, and sufficient food and drink supplies are necessary since catering or shopping options are not always available or open. Although the path is very well marked throughout, for safety reasons you should always carry a suitable map.
Especially in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. Expect such impediments if you go on a cycling tour. If you find some path sections impassable, you should avoid them. Especially in adverse weather, natural paths can become muddy and slippery.
On the A65 motorway, take exit 18 Insheim and follow signs to Insheim. The station is located directly at the town entrance.
The Insheim station is on the RB51 railway line Neustadt an der Weinstraße - Karlsruhe.
Other start or shortcut options on the RB51 railway line: Knöringen-Essingen, Landau main station
Alternatives: The tour can also be started or shortened at Siebeldingen-Birkweiler, Godramstein, and Landau (Pfalz) West stations on the RB55 line (Pirmasens - Landau).
There are numerous parking spaces available at Insheim station.
