Sentiero Balcone della Valsusa: Tappa 4 Località Jafferau - Bardonecchia Borgo Vecchio

From the locality of Bacini Jafferau take the Decauville dirt road which is flat (used in the nineteenth and twentieth century for the construction and maintenance of the Rochemolles dam) to reach Mouchequite. The route descends to Rochemolles and then starts to climb up to the 2,852 m high Passo di Rocce Verdi. From here, descend through the alpine settlement of Pian delle Stelle (shelter for possible overnight stay), to reach Chaffaux (site of the chapel of Santa Caterina and Santa Maria Maddalena with 16th century exterior and interior frescoes), before finally descending to Bardonecchia.
