The descent from the sunny mountain village of Valens into the gorge is an experience. The path leads down through quiet forests. Overhanging rock walls, the rushing of the Tamina and birdsong greet the hikers who have arrived below. It is worth visiting the only baroque spa building in Switzerland, the Old Bath Pfäfers, and putting your hand into the warm spring. The return is on the same path, heading towards the sunshine again.

Exit the motorway at Bad Ragaz, then drive on the mountain road towards Pfäfers/Valens to Valens.
Take the train to Bad Ragaz, then the post bus to Valens.
Parking spaces can be found at the clinic.
