The cycling round trip Ferlach – with a stopover in Feistritz in the Rosental – is a cycling experience for the whole family.
The extremely flat route sticks to low-traffic roads and bike paths and impresses more with its scenery than its difficulty. The first half of the route runs along the popular Drau Cycle Path on a flat and well-drivable gravel track. Along the way, the Drau Cycle Path hosts provide proper refreshment for exhausted cyclists.
The return journey to Ferlach leads along country roads through picturesque small towns: Unterfeistritz, Sala, Hundsdorf, St. Johann, Laiplach, Strau and Kirschentheuer are the stops on this journey and all worth a quick visit. Back in Ferlach, adults can relax with food and drink while children can let off steam in the castle park with enough remaining energy.
From the center, cross the Loiblbach Bridge, turn right towards Ressnig. Soon you reach the low-traffic Drau Cycle Path (R1) in the Carinthian cycle network. Turn left (west) along the Drau past the well-maintained bathing lake to Feistritz in the Rosental, approx. 10 kilometers, flat good gravel road. From Feistritz to Ferlach, to avoid taking the same route, you ride through nice small towns. Little traffic, asphalt, gently rolling terrain past the Ratz bathing lake back to the starting point in Ferlach.
