Therefore, he would have probably liked to have worked on the Diemelsee dam if it had been his time. The stones for the dam wall, hardly weathered diabase, were quarried near the construction site.
They called 90 rubble stone masons from Italy and Serbia; construction began in 1912 and was only completed in 1924 due to war and lack of funds.
