Sällinpolku (Jurva)

Säläisjärvi is located about 2 kilometers from the center of Jurva, along Kauhajoentie. The Sällinpolku trail around the lake is approximately four kilometers long. This 4 km nature trail circles Säläisjärvi in a beautiful and varied environment. The route runs along boardwalks, forest paths, a jogging track, and a lakeside road.

Along the route, there are three resting spots: the first right at the beginning near the boat launch site. The second resting spot branches off slightly from the main trail, signposted from the main route Laihianranta with an arrow pointing left (accessible lean-to). The last resting spot is located at 62.654538 21.984914, at the lean-to/barn on the opposite shore of Säläisjärvi. This last resting spot is somewhat in poor condition and currently not maintained.

After completing the Sällinpolku circuit, you can take a dip in the sandy-bottomed Säläisjärvi lake at the swimming beach next to the campsite. In addition to the swimming beach, the shore area includes a campsite with restaurant services, a frisbee golf course, a beach volleyball court, two playgrounds, and several fire pits. Säläisjärvi is also known as an excellent fishing spot, and daily fishing permits are sold for the lake. The lake is home to rainbow trout, brown trout, and whitefish, whose populations are maintained through stocking, as well as wild perch, pike, and burbot. The shoreline stretches for more than three kilometers.
