Wet natural jewel
The "Kogelteich", which is fed by seepage water from the adjacent slopes, was already used as a fishing pond in the Middle Ages. Since 1979, the "Teichwiesen" area of around 15 hectares has been a nature reserve. The extensive reed beds surrounding the pond and the adjacent wet meadows provide an important breeding ground and habitat for numerous bird specious and endangered amphibia.

This discovery route is suitable for people with disabilities, as the entire route is paved. You can also cycle or push a baby carriage here.
The entire route is 5.5 km long.

The pond meadows also provide the ideal habitat for reed-dwelling songbirds. The reed warbler is the largest of the reed warblers and its loud"Karra-Karra-Krie-Krie" song is impossible miss.
Amphibians also feel at home in the waet meadows and water areas. With their loud croaking, more than 10,000 spring frogs and grass frogs, common toads, fire-bellied toads and Danube crested newts come to spawn here every year.
