Located on the Albtrauf Landscape Park as well as the Fils Landscape Park, the municipality offers interesting hiking trails. The Albtraufgängerweg trail is the most beautiful way to get to know the Albtrauf. It leads through the characteristic orchards and hillside forests and offers sweeping views of the Alb foreland and the Stuttgart region.
A "highlight" is the fruit nature trail. In the "Schnait" district, it impresses with its numerous large and old cider pear trees, which are unique in their massing on the fruit variety nature trails in the district. Another delicacy are the "Gingener Luiken", which are known far beyond the boundaries of the municipality.
The historical circular hiking trail in Gingen, which is linked to the Filstal industrial heritage route, is historically interesting. This can be recognized by the special steles, one of which can be found right next to the town hall.
From the vantage point of the local mountain "Hohenstein" you have a wonderful view of the Filstal valley, and in good weather even as far as the Stuttgart area.

From the town hall, the path leads over the Grünenberg to the forest nature trail. Along this trail, you can discover spruce, silver fir, pine and Douglas fir trees as well as numerous shrubs, grasses and flowers. The nature trail also offers a beautiful view of the Middle Fils Valley.
The trail continues through the Gingen municipal forest to the Turmebene-Turmhalde. This route is particularly suitable for forest lovers who want to enjoy the diversity of the forest and the tranquillity of nature.
Wear sturdy, non-slip shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. A rucksack with water, snacks and a first aid kit is recommended.
Some paths can be slippery and dangerous when wet. Watch your steps and use walking poles for stability if necessary.
Take the MEX 16 from Stuttgart and Ulm to Gingen station. From there it is about 10 minutes to the hiking trail.
