Opis

Located both in the Albtrauf Landscape Park and the Fils Landscape Park, the community offers interesting hiking trails. On the Albtraufgängerweg, you get to know the Albtrauf in its most beautiful form. It leads through characteristic orchard meadows and hillside forests and offers wide views over the Albvorland and the Stuttgart region.

A "highlight" is the orchard educational trail. In the "Schnait" area, it impresses with its numerous large and old cider pear trees, which are unique in their abundance among the orchard variety trails in the district. Another treat is the “Gingener Luiken” which are well known far beyond the municipal boundaries.

Historically interesting is the historical circular hiking path in Gingen, which is connected to the Industrial Culture Route in the Filstal. It can be recognized by special steles, one of which can be found right at the town hall.

Informacje o trasie
Trasa

The start of the hike is located in the center of Gingen at the town hall. In the first few meters, we walk towards the train station and pass under the tracks of the Filstal railway. Traveling by train is therefore easily possible. After crossing the tracks, the ascent towards Hohenstein begins. Halfway up, we reach a fork in the path that leads us to the right along a zigzag trail to the Hohenstein viewpoint. Here, a unique view opens up over the entire lower Filstal, framed by the Voralb region and the Drei-Kaiser mountains. If the weather permits, you can even see distinctive landmarks in the Stuttgart area in the distance.

Along the impressive Albtrauf escarpment, the path now winds along the Tegelberg to the next viewpoint, the Kuhfelsen. Following the Albtrauf, which here repeatedly offers beautiful views over the five-valley town of Geislingen, the path leads back towards Gingen. Through the idyllic hamlet of Kuchalb, which belongs to Donzdorf, we reach the Maierhalde. From here, you can once again enjoy a magnificent view of the Drei-Kaiser mountains and their surroundings. The path returns over the young cattle pasture back down to the valley and the starting point.
