Des dégringoules* au vert - Beaujolais - Amplepuis

In the Haute Vallée d'Azergues, the pure waters of the rivers have nurtured textile craftsmanship since the Middle Ages. A tradition that 19th-century entrepreneurs turned into a prosperous industry. In Amplepuis, the workers' housing estate in the Déchelette district dates back to this period, as does the Clos du Crêt associated with the name of Jean Villy. He made the Crêt hill his estate, developing it with a neo-Gothic château surrounded by a vast landscaped park.
