Visp Planet Trail

The planet trail is a model of our solar system at a scale of 1:1 billion and offers the opportunity to get an impression of the relative sizes and distances of the members of our solar family. The planet trail starts at the sun, which is located at the beginning of the old valley path directly behind the Visp cemetery. The discovery tour follows the course of the Vispa, leading sometimes through vineyards, sometimes through shady pine forests. At the Stundhüs, the busy cantonal road must be crossed – please be careful there. The trail is mostly flat and not too strenuous with a duration of about two hours. This guarantees a beautiful and educational outing for the whole family. The return is possible from Stalden-Saas station by train (Matterhorn Gotthard railway) or by bus to Visp. Those who want to leave the theme trail earlier will find bus stops at Staldbach, Hohflüe, Stundhüs, and Neubrück.
