The hike starts at the market in Eisenach, which already offers numerous cultural sights, e.g. the town hall, the City Palace with the Thuringian Museum as well as the Georgen Church, where Martin Luther once preached and J. S. Bach was baptized. The route goes through the local shopping street via Karlsplatz with the Luther Monument, the St. Nicholas Church and the town gate to the city park. The Villa Eichel-Streiber here is worth a visit. A beautiful view over Eisenach to the Wartburg awaits you shortly after at the Burschenschaft Monument.
The route continues along the charming ridge path to Bornemann Bench with a great view and to the Mosbacher Linden with a shelter. There is a resting place here with a view of the Hörselberg. The route continues along the Wine Street. We pass the entrance to the Landgrafenschlucht, where there is also a shelter, and then make a detour to the Great Dragon Rock. Here you can enjoy a magnificent view. The bench around the thick tree trunk invites you to linger.
Then the descent begins through quiet forest, away from traffic and public bustle to the Mosbacher Forest Bath. Once there, you can take a dip in the cool water or refresh yourself in the inn or the snack bar.
The return route leads back to Eisenach past the equestrian farm Gefildehof Göpel to the Burschenschaft Monument. Through the villa district of Eisenach, it continues back to the market.
