The Roland Werner Memorial Path was created in honor of Roland Werner, a former board member of the Heimatverein Jüchsen. Roland Werner was a co-founder of the Heimatverein and significantly involved in establishing the hiking trails in and around Jüchsen. The path stands as a lasting symbol of his important contributions and dedication. The path extends over 9.5 km and offers challenging ascents and descents. The hike leads toward Queienfeld to the Aroldshäuser Valley, the former estate of the Herren von Bibra. On the way to Großkopf, a detour to the Idaler Ponds, only 50 m from the route, is worthwhile – an idyllic place to linger. The route continues to the Schwarzer Stock, the tri-border point (Exdorf/Westenfeld/Jüchsen), erected in 1830 and adorned with the coats of arms of the former lordships: Sachsen-Meiningen, Sachsen-Coburg, and Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The Schwarzer Stock is a historical testament to territorial development in the region, with tables and benches inviting you to rest.
The route is easy to walk but requires fitness.

Be careful of crossing street traffic. Sections of the path are part of the municipal cycling network, so cyclists should be watched for.
Via the A71, exit Rentwertshausen, continue via Queienfeld to Jüchsen, on L 1131 from the direction of Meiningen or Römhild, and on L 2628 coming from the direction of Hildbughausen Themar to Jüchsen.
Line 404 of Meininger Busbetriebs GmbH (MBB), the bus stop is located in the town center directly at the start/finish.
