Passo del Bonello Trail

The route develops on an easy path suitable for all levels, crossing picturesque forests dominated by majestic beeches, which accompany the hiker throughout the climb. The trail gradually leads to Alpe della Bolla, immersed in a peaceful and typically alpine natural environment.

In a few minutes you reach the Passo del Bonello, an ancient mountain pass located at the border with Italy, once used as a connection route between the communities of the two valleys.

Skirting the pastures for about 10 minutes, before entering the woods again, it is possible to choose to extend the hike to the foot of Sasso Gordona (1410 m a.s.l.), a fascinating mountain characterized by imposing limestone towers and suggestive views of the surrounding territory.

The return to Cabbio completes a pleasant and varied circular itinerary, ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in the nature of the Muggio Valley and discover ancient connecting routes between Switzerland and Italy.
