Of all the stages, this is the most physically demanding. An excellent prelude therefore to launch into the adventure.
Starting from Fusio, a village with architecture as traditional as it is eclectic, clinging to the mountain slopes. From there, the path first climbs among the larches, then ascends to the Alpe di Röd and finally aims for the Bocchetta di Pisone, a pass neglected by hikers for decades and revived thanks to this trekking route.
On the other side of the pass is the Valle di Peccia, the marble valley. There, at our feet, lies the only quarry for extracting valuable material on Swiss territory.
A rapid (and steep) descent of almost 1000 meters to admire the powerful Ri della Cròsa waterfall and change side. Then, a natural ledge and an ascent lead to the Capanna Poncione di Braga, a small haven of tranquility at our free disposal.

The Alpine Lake Trek predominantly follows mountain trails (T3 according to the hiking difficulty scale) with sections of alpine trail (T4). However, it should not be taken lightly, especially due to the length of some stages and altitude, sometimes near 3000 meters.
Therefore, the following are required:
adequate physical condition detailed planning (current conditions, weather, etc.) sure-footedness on uneven terrain (scree, etc.)Not to be underestimated:
high altitude rapid weather changes presence of snowfields early in the season travel times (especially with large groups) often no mobile phone reception lack of potable water springs along some stagesInternational emergency number: 112
112 is the general emergency number. When you call it, your call is transferred directly to the appropriate rescue unit (ambulance, police, fire brigade). 112 can be called on a GSM network even if the SIM card or phone is locked. In nearly all countries, 112 works on GSM networks. Outside Switzerland, it works even without a SIM card.

Some huts open their doors as early as June, when the connecting stages are usually still snow-covered.
Generally, the best season for trekking is from July to September/October. However, even in mid-summer, it is advisable to contact the wardens to inquire about the passability of the route.
Booking overnight stays is mandatory to avoid unpleasant surprises and to prevent being without accommodation.
