Heart trails of Velenje - Small Trail

The start of the trail is at the information board in Športné patek Velenje, not far from Lake Škal. From the starting point, the path heads east along a short asphalt section, then heads right next to the lake. After less than a kilometer, it turns over a wooden bridge further along the lake. The path is picturesque and offers a view of the lake from different perspectives on one side, and on the other side of the meadows, Graško gora, and other surrounding hills. At the connection to the Veliko ot in the northwestern part, a view of Lake Velenj opens up. Along this (western) part of the path, there are information points for the Sadna poti, information about the water birds in the area, information about the village of Stare Škale, which is sinking due to lignite mining. The path leads past an energy point called the Poetry Grove of Velenje.
