Olsbrücken (cemetery) - turn left onto B 270 - after about 300 m turn right onto "Brühlhof" street - after about 100 m turn left (along the railway line) - Untersulzbach ("Zur Braunbach" street) - turn right onto the main street (K 22) - Obersulzbach (village street) - after leaving the village up to Obersulzbach, turn right - Tiefental - Frankelbach ("Stielweid" street) - first turn left then right onto Talstraße - right, then right again, follow Talstraße (parallel to Frankelbach) - Grubenhof - turn right onto K 27 - turn right into Olsbrücken ("Am Bahnhof" street) - turn left into Bahnhofstraße - after about 70 m turn right into the recreational area, past the sports field (parallel to the Lauter) up to B 270 - turn right - turn left to the cemetery Olsbrücken
Our hike starts at the village entrance/exit in front of the cemetery in Olsbrücken.
We carefully examine the route on the hiking board and then start off towards KL (Sulzbachtal) on the foot/bike path. After a few hundred meters, the marking leads us over the B270 towards Brühlhof to the right over the Lauter bridge.
At the gardens on the left side, the path branches off to the left and takes us to Untersulzbach. We take the village street (to the right) and follow this paved path beyond Obersulzbach. There we go straight ahead and after a few meters hike up a signposted right curve up the hill.
Following the incline, we reach another marker on the height: the blue cross, a long-distance hiking trail. We turn right with it but continue straight, not joining the blue cross down to the left.
Our path continues on the field above, after gravel it turns into concrete after about 300 - 400 meters and leads us down to Frankelbach.
In the village, immediately left, in the village center (at the fountain) right and the bike/footpath takes us out of the village to the tracks of the Lautertalbahn.
These are crossed and right taken immediately. The station building stays on the right, the Lauter is crossed and immediately after the bridge, turn right.
We then follow the new yellow signs (footpath to the cemetery). Behind the “wedding bridge” at the height of the multipurpose hall and the sports center, we again follow the sign to the cemetery. After a short time, we reach the main street and cross it. A few steps further we have reached our starting point.
Tak
For our hiking routes, we recommend the following equipment as standard:
- Sturdy footwear
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Sun and rain protection
- Sufficient supply of food and drinks, as there are not always opportunities to eat or shop, or they may be closed.
- Even though the paths are consistently very well marked, for safety reasons it is always advisable to carry a suitable
hiking map, so that in the event of a thunderstorm or emergency you can quickly find a safe area.
- Hiking poles recommended.
General information:
Especially in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees may still fall or branches may break off. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in some places. You must expect these types of path impairments when hiking. If you find certain sections impassable for you, you should bypass them.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting societies on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a trail closure or detour, please pay attention to the signs for your own safety.
