Palatinate Almond Path / 3rd stage Edenkoben - Neustadt

Here begins the third and final stage of your hiking arrangement on the Palatinate Almond Path to Neustadt on the Wine Route. Starting in Edenkoben, you will first hike on the Palatinate Almond Path towards Maikammer, with St. Martin on your left and Maikammer on your right. Along this section, you can also admire white-blossoming almond trees. The path now leads you through the large vineyard site "Maikammer Mandelhöhe." The name recalls the field name "in den Mandeläckern," mentioned as early as the 16th century. Back then, the Bishop of Speyer promoted the cultivation of almonds as an important fruit and had entire fields planted.

Can you already spot Hambach Castle in the distance? From the outskirts of Maikammer-Alsterweiler, the path continues towards Diedesfeld. In town, you first follow the Wine Route and then the Diedesfelder Weg, which takes you past the Neustadt vineyards onto the Palatinate Almond Path. Parallel to the Wine Route, you now head to the outskirts of Neustadt-Hambach. Finally, you continue a last stretch until you reach your destination - Neustadt on the Wine Route.

The Villa Ludwigshöhe near Edenkoben is currently closed to the public due to extensive renovation work.
