The itinerary is a small journey to discover the excellent products of Roero, which starts precisely from Bra, departing point of the tour, a city rich in history and art which will know how to welcome you with its museums, Baroque churches and buildings, historical coffee shops and its typical products (the sausage of Bra, the Dop Bra cheese and the Mac bun of Bra..), worthy of the city that is the headquarters of the Slow Food movement.
Depart from the panoramic point of the Zizzola (the home of the people of Bra) and continue in the direction of Santa Vittoria d’Alba for a brief section along the main road (be careful of the traffic which is particularly intense!), before moving on to secondary roads that offer a magnificent view of the Tanaro Valley following the route uphill which takes to the medieval village dominated by the castle (today private) and by the impressive square tower, from the top you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Roero. From Santa Vittoria, continue towards Monticello d’Alba and, having crossed the town, climb towards the historic centre where the magnificent Castle of Conti di Roero offers a valid excuse for a break. Having descended to the foot of the hill, continue on long straight sections in a north-easterly direction towards Corneliano d’Alba where you can admire a rare example of polygonal tower with ten sides, which was once the donjon of the ancient castle. From here, crossing the hamlets of San Giuseppe and Rossi, proceed along the provincial road (careful: these roads are quite busy!) to reach Pocapaglia with its historic centre perched on the ridges of the Rocche, from which you can enjoy some of the most enchanting panoramas of the geological ridge made of cliffs and chasms of sandy walls, whose formation seems to be due to a phenomenon of erosion known as the “capture of the Tanaro”. Wild and labyrinth-like, due to the dark and gloomy environment they create, the Rocche have inspired legends connected to the “masche” (witches in Piedmontese dialect), like those of the Masca Micillina which according to popular tradition lived and worked in Pocapaglia until they were burnt at the stake. Not to be missed is a visit to the Eco museum Rocche e Masche which preserves trades, memories and traditions of Roero to continue towards Bra, where our tour ends, across the hamlet known as “America dei Boschi” where it is worth stopping at the Shrine of Madonna dei Fiori.
It starts from the panoramic point of Zizzola (the "house of the Braidesi") and continues in the direction of Santa Vittoria d'Alba for a short stretch along the main road (beware of particularly heavy traffic!), to then deviate onto secondary roads they offer a splendid view of the Tanaro valley along the climb that leads to the medieval village dominated by the castle (today private) and by the mighty square tower, from the top of which you can enjoy a splendid view of the Roero. From Santa Vittoria continue towards Monticello d'Alba and, after crossing the town, go up towards the historic centre, where the splendid Castle of the Counts of Roero offers a valid pretext for a break. Going down again to the foot of the hill, we proceed on long straight stretches towards the north-east in the direction of Corneliano d'Alba, where we can admire a rare example of a ten-sided polygonal tower, which once constituted the keep of the ancient castle. From here, crossing the hamlets of San Giuseppe and Rossi, you proceed along the provincial road (attention: these are quite busy roads!), until you reach Pocapaglia with its historic centre.
