We ascend to the 18th-century church of San Pietro in Vincoli, a historic-architectural monument dominating the lower valley. From the paved road we move to dirt to reach the hamlet Podio, then a long traverse leads to Colle Cumola and then to Colle di Pramartino, which has seen the Giro d'Italia pass several times.
From here starts a variant that allows reducing by about one third both total distance and elevation gain, passing through the hamlet Miandassa (former graphite mine and giant bench with panorama of Villar Perosa).
The main itinerary instead reaches the Belvedere of Monte Rocciacotello, where the imposing marble face of the Statue of Liberty, a work by sculptor Edoardo Rubino, stands out, and from which you can admire a vast panorama of the Pinerolo plain.
We descend towards Porte to the locality Fontana degli Alpini and then to San Benedetto, another splendid panoramic point over the lower Val Chisone. Then, always on dirt, we quickly return to the valley floor.
We ascend to the 18th-century church of San Pietro in Vincoli, a historic-architectural monument overlooking the lower valley. Continuing on the paved road, we pass the hamlets Caserme and Didiera, then on a dirt track we proceed to the hamlet Podio and from here a long traverse leads us to Colle Cumola (935 m). Following the dirt trail we arrive at Colle di Pramartino (916 m), which has seen the Giro d'Italia pass several times; then following the signs we take the path that leads to the Belvedere, where the imposing marble face of the Statue of Liberty, a work by sculptor Edoardo Rubino, stands out; from the square you can admire a vast panorama of the Pinerolo plain.
Passing at the foot of Monte Rocciacotello, we descend through the woods towards Porte, quickly reaching the locality Fontana degli Alpini (745 m), where we can refill water. We take a traverse that at mid-slope leads us, first on dirt and then on asphalt, to San Benedetto (820 m), another splendid panoramic point over the territories of Porte, Turina and San Germano Chisone. We continue again on dirt descending towards the hamlet Prietti of Villar Perosa, then along Via Trieste we quickly return to the valley floor and to the starting point.
