Good preparation is required for this excursion. Starting from the Pont Canavese train station, you climb up through villages and pastures above Alpette and reach the watershed between the Orco and Lanzo Valleys at an altitude of 2000 metres. You touch high-altitude pastures, with an overnight stay at the Alpe Soglio Refuge, and encounter panoramic places such as Monte Soglio, Colle delle Croce d’Intror and Monte Vaccarezza which dominates the Coassolo valleys. From here, with a long descent through pastures, woods and villages, you reach Lanzo Torinese, served by the Turin-Ceres railway.
