The route follows the lake shore, through a magically beautiful forest, climbing up to a majestic cliff. Along the way, you can stop and travel back in time to ancient dwelling sites. Finds from these sites include oblique-bladed arrowheads, ceramics, quartz, and burnt bone. At the top of the cliff, time stops again, as it is time to quietly admire the beautiful lake scenery of Päijät-Häme. While enjoying the view, you can rest for a snack break. The journey continues into a terrain-varied forest. The terrain is quite rocky and has some elevation gain. You can also go swimming during the hike, as the trail starts and ends at the Herrala Hahmajärvi beach. There is also a grill shelter at the beach.
