An artificial lake is rarely installed by chance and economic interests often do not blend well with aesthetic aspects. In front of the water body of La Bancalié, however, everything is charming. On one side, the pines crown the hills, a Mediterranean touch to the landscape. On the other, the pastures enhance a broad impression of calm. Meanwhile, from about fifteen small valleys, water flows toward the lake. In fact, it seeps everywhere in transparent delicate streams to finish its race, broad and spread out, at the foot of the dam. It alone animates the place for a time, offering a mirror to the sky, the pine forests, and the meadows.
