OENORANDO® ON THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE FREE WINEGROWERS

From the parking lot of the Free Winegrowers cooperative cellar, cross Jean-Jaurès avenue and go down the stairs. Turn right onto the old railway line, pass the media library, and cross the street. Continue straight on and at D 14, take the sidewalk on the right. Follow D 14 for about 350 m.

Cross D 14 and continue left onto rue de l’Aniel. After the houses, continue on the farming track (view on the right of the Saint-Nazaire cathedral of Béziers). At the road, turn left and follow along the Perdiguier castle until a road.

Cross D39 carefully. Continue straight on via Villenouvette road on the roadside. Leave chemin de la Rivière on the right, continue straight again then take the chemin de la Barque to the right. Again, leave tracks on the right. At the end, go left and walk 50 m.

Descend onto a path bypassing agricultural plots and follow it (follow the signs carefully) which rises along the Orb river for about 850 m (view on the Caroux massif and the Avant-Monts). Turn left into the vineyard and, at the end, go up left on a track. Go straight ahead to reach a wine estate (Chapelle de Novilis tasting room). Turn right and follow D 39 on the right for 60 m.

Turn left onto chemin de la Garrigue. Walk about 650 m and go up to a crossroads (road crossing). Go straight on on the path and enjoy views of the Avant-Monts and villages of the Orb valley, with Béziers and its city center behind you. After a ruined cabin, reach a road. Continue straight on the road. After a bend, it starts a descent.

At Château de Rouvignac, turn right onto a path. At the end, follow the field then join a track. Continue to a road. Walk left along the road for 30 m, then cross and take the track ahead. Walk 100 m, then turn left onto the path under a power line. Again, follow the road on the right for 120 m.

Go up the road on the right, ignoring paths on the sides. Pass in front of the N.-D.-de-la-Providence chapel then descend along the Roman road (traces of carts). Turn left onto the track and, at the crossroads, continue straight ahead. Walk about 400 m, then turn right to join a greenway. Continue left towards Maraussan. At the roundabout, follow the pedestrian path straight ahead, then go up on the right via the stairs towards the cooperative cellar.
