Opis

The23-stage long-distance hiking trail was realized as a joint project of the tourism associations of the Salzkammergut region and Salzkammergut Tourismus-Marketing GmbH with the Austrian Alpine Association and the Naturfreunde Salzkammergut.

On trails marked throughout with the Salzkammergut BergeSeen Trail signage, it connects no fewer than 35 lakes. There are no via ferratas to overcome, but there are some short, exposed rocky passages that require surefootedness, a head for heights and suitably robust footwear. Most stages end in places with the best tourist infrastructure and good overnight accommodation, but individual routes also lead to secluded inns or alpine refuges that guarantee mountain romance.

Opis

Informacje o trasie
Trasa

Thanks to its well thought-out routing, the Salzkammergut BergeSeen Trail makes the dream of many people who love the Salzkammergut come true: To be on the road for twenty-three (or more) days, on a round trip from Gmunden over the Attersee to St. Wolfgang, over to the Mondseeland and into the Salzburger Land to the Fuschlsee, past the Hintersee and across the Osterhorngruppe, over the high pastures of the Postalm back to the Wolfgangsee and further to Bad Ischl, on the Katrin and to the Goiserer Hütte, high above Gosau towards the Dachstein, from the Salzberg down to Hallstatt and from the Hallstätter See through the Koppental into the Styrian Ausseerland, past the Ödensee and via Hinterbergtal to the Tauplitzalm, in a wide arc to the Grundlsee, up into the Tote Gebirge and through its northern falls to the Offensee, further to the Almsee, through the Almtal and finally via the Laudachsee back to the starting point. If this list makes you gasp for breath, remember that many a drop of sweat can be saved by using the bus and train, boat or cable car.

Detailed information on the individual stages can be found at trail.salzkammergut.at.

Sprzęt

For all stages you will need hiking or mountain boots with a treaded rubber sole as well as wind- and rainproof clothing.

A change of clothes and a small first-aid kit should also be in your backpack. How much food you pack depends on the number of stops you make. In any case, you should take enough to drink. Telescopic poles are especially helpful when going downhill.

Instrukcje bezpieczeństwa

In alpine terrain, pay attention to the danger of falling rocks.
Until early summer you can encounter steep snowfields or firn gullies - especially in icy conditions there is then an acute risk of falling and therefore of death!
Due to storm damage, forestry work or construction work, individual sections of the trail may be temporarily difficult or impossible to pass.
Cows on the alp are often curious. Because they are mother cows, they develop a strong drive to protect their calves. So move quietly on cow pastures, keep at least 20 m distance to the animals and do not stroke calves under any circumstances! In case of threatening gestures (pawing, stamping) slowly move away backwards (do not turn your back). Dogs on a leash, they must not bark at cows or even chase them. In the event of an attack, it is essential to let them off the leash.
