Opis

Get to know the surroundings of the district capital Hollabrunn from a different angle: explore the enchanting region by bike on quiet paths - away from busy roads. The 55 km long route leads mainly along fields that change color throughout the year: in spring, it is the bright yellow rapeseed fields that exude an intense scent. In summer, golden grain fields dominate the landscape, in late summer it is the bright yellow sunflower fields that invite you to take a souvenir photo and in autumn the colorful deciduous trees set the tone.

Along the way, you will also pass dreamy Weinviertel villages and picturesque wine cellar lanes that invite you to take a break.

Start the tour and let yourself be surprised!

Trasa

The recommended bike tour, “WINE EXPERIENCE TOUR AROUND HOLLABRUNN,” starts in the center of Hollabrunn ( the train station is right nearby) and heads northeast out of town. After a short stretch of unpaved road, you’ll pass the outskirts of Aspersdorf and continue on to Schöngrabern. In the town center stands the Romanesque church with its stone Bible, a sacred art monument unique in Europe. The route continues through the village until you reach the beautiful wine cellar lane . We recommend getting off your bike here and walking along the wine cellar lane. The oversized keyhole is the perfect spot for a souvenir photo.

Shortly after the wine cellar lane, turn right toward the north, cross the B2, and continue cycling to Windpassing, a small, charming village. The next village is Grund, where you’ll cross the B303, make a small loop, and continue on to Wullersdorf. From a distance, you can already see the former fortified church dedicated to St. George. The route continues through Immendorf to Schalladorf; a short detour into the Loamgstettn wine cellar lane is definitely worth it. Cozy spots here invite you to linger and relax.

After Oberstinkenbrunn comes Nappersdorf: as you approach the end of the village, the next wine cellar lane worth seeing is already waiting for you. Under the large trees, it’s especially pleasant to take a break on hot days and enjoy the idyllic setting. Refreshed and full of energy, you’ll head to Dürnleis, where the “royal” wine cellar lane has plenty of stories to tell. It’s said that Cardinal Franz König often strolled through this lane. Now it’s just a short distance to Kammersdorf, the easternmost point of the bike tour; there, you’ll make a loop and return to Dürnleis, Kleinweikersdorf, and Nappersdorf.

This time, you’ll leave the village on your left and cycle past countless fields toward Hart. Before you reach the first houses, several wine press houses line the path—you’ve arrived at the picturesque Hundsbergkellergasse . At the Pamperl family’s bike rest stop , you should seize the opportunity to refresh yourself with a drink straight from the cellar.

The route leads through Kleinstetteldorf to Aspersdorf, where you’ll be accompanied by the Göllersbach stream. You’ll cross through the village and rejoin the bike path, which takes you straight back to Hollabrunn. There, the main square invites you to linger. If the weather is nice, be sure to visit the 24-meter-high Koliskowarte , which offers a wonderful panoramic view all the way to Schneeberg and Ötscher.

Instrukcje bezpieczeństwa

The L35 road, which connects Nappersdorf, Kleinweikersdorf, Dürnleis, and Kammersdorf, has somewhat heavier traffic, so caution is advised here.
