Alpengasthof Bergfried – and the air feels like sparkling wine

„Welcome“– from the family Gösseringer, we tell that since hundreds of years to our nature and to our guest who visit us on this beautiful place!

At the end of any traffic you find us and our cozy rooms – or really special in our “Troadkasten”. Your eyes will enjoy the magical panoramic view of your balcony and with culinary delights our kitchen team will spoil you. There are many dishes with regional and selfmade products of our own farm.

We offer you cosy equipped double rooms with furniture of native spruce, shower, WC, Sat-TV, radio, couch and panoramic view over the Millstättersee.

In the morning you will be waked up by the highest mountain of Austria - the Großglockner! The day starts with a lovely breakfast with many products of our own farm.

Afterwards the Alpengasthof Bergfried is the perfect starting point for a hike at our "house mountain" Mirnock which you could reach in about 3 hours. From the mountaintop you have a gloriously view over the valleys and mountains around.

Also for a little walk around you could start at the Alpengasthof Bergfried - the "Kneipp-Weg" is a tour for your health - there are 5 arm water bowls and 4 footbaths with a description for application and effect. On this tour you haven’t to take a water bottle with you - there are many creeks with 100% drinking water on the way!

The deepest lake of Carinthia - the Millstättersee – you could reach it in just 13 minutes by car from the Alpengasthof Bergfried. A lot of bathing beaches, bicycle trails and climbing tours you find around the lake!

In the evening you will be spoiled with typical Carinthian dishes and an awesome view over the Millstättersee and the mountains around.

Sternenbalkon for pleasure-lovers – time for two!

The breathtaking view from the Millstättersee to the Großglockner, listening to the wind and gazing at the starry sky in the evening. Have a good snack and watch the sun kissing the Millstättersee. Enjoy the togetherness with sparkling wine, homemade bacon, sausages, Carinthian cheese specialties, curd cheese spread, hearty black bread, Mirnock eyes and homemade elderberry juice.
