Kronplatz - Dolomiten

The Dolomites Region Kronplatz in South Tyrol/Südtirol – the northernmost region of Italy - comprises a unique, astonishingly varied landscape mixture.

It extends from the western part of the Pustertal valley through the Antholzertal valley and the Gsieser Tal valley, and it reaches to the south as far as the Gadertal valley. While in the north, the high mountains of the main ridge of the Alps call out for mountain climbers, mountain bikers, cable climbers, and in the winter for ski tourers, that also occurs in the southeast from the legendary, majestic “pale peaks” of the Dolomites, which are a UNESCO World Heritage site. And those who prefer to experience nature in a gentle way go on a voyage of discovery by strolling, hiking, or cycling through the Val Pusteria, exploring its side valleys with the villages so filled with tradition, or visiting Bruneck/Brunico.
The very heart of the region and, at the same time, what provides its name is the 2,275 m (7,464 ft.) high Plan de Corones-Kronplatz, which is also renowned as the Number One Ski Mountain in South Tyrol-Südtirol.

The towns of the region are the medieval city of Bruneck and its associated vacation destinations of St. Lorenzen/S. Lorenzo, Pfalzen/Falzes, Gais - Uttenheim/Villa Ottone and Percha/Perca; the Ladin Dolomites villages of San Vigilio and San Martin, the vacation community of Kiens/Chienes, the active family village of Olang/Valdaora and the idyllic Antholzertal valley that is famous for the Biathlon World Cup...
