The Thermal Spa Circular Route can, as the name suggests, be started from any point. Those who start directly at the St. Kathrein Thermal Spa take the route's name – "Thermal Spa Circular Route" – almost literally… and also get inspiration for what to do after the winter hike. The path goes past a very special place in Kirchheim, the St. Kathrein Church. You should definitely take the time to visit the church’s crypt. There, the healing thermal water springs from the rock face.
While in summer this circular route is accompanied by birdsong, in winter the snow crunches underfoot. Since you are literally on the absolute sunny side of the Kirchheim valley along this path, there are some benches by the wayside inviting you to pause briefly, enjoy the view, and warm yourself with the winter sunshine.
Before crossing Dorfstraße halfway through the route to continue on the other side of the Kirchheim valley, it's worth taking a look to the left, where you can see the Evangelical Church in the distance. A small wooden church that impresses with its simple beauty. Following the water of the Kirchheimer Bach, you finally approach the starting point of the Thermal Spa Circular Route.
Opposite the St. Kathrein Thermal Spa, turn into Thermenstraße and follow the path past the Thermenwelt Pulverer and the Thermenhotel Ronacher to St. Kathrein Thermal Spa. After the church, follow the Sonnenweg to the right, passing the Aigen district and the Gutzingerhof until the Lilienweg junction. After Lilienweg, cross Dorfstraße, walk past the Spar supermarket and the Hervis sports shop to the Spaziermeile. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Spaziermeile, following the Kirchheimer Bach to the Hotel Kärntnerhof. There, turn right and follow the path to Dorfstraße, where the St. Kathrein Thermal Spa is already in sight.
