Slow motion at the world mountain Mirnock
The Mirnock is a mountain on the eastern shore of Lake Millstatt. It has a gentle peak and is known for its special energy. The meadows on the mountain are farmed by the Mirnock farmers. The Slow Trail Mirnock leads from the Alpengasthof Bergfried through a forest. Sometimes the path becomes steeper, but there are many places from which you have a great view of Lake Millstatt and the mountains. Especially at sunset many people come here to enjoy the wonderful view.
The story of the Mirnock giant is told on the Slow Trail. Also explained are the work of the Mirnock farmers and the healing effect of the forest. At important points, there are information boards: at the beginning of the trail, at the viewpoint by the Bergfried hut, and in the forest on the way back to the Alpengasthof Bergfried.
The Slow Trail Mirnock leads from the Alpengasthof Bergfried over a steeper forest road in several switchbacks to the viewpoint at the Bergfried hut and back again. Suitable for strollers with good fitness.
