You start your route by heading towards Chaussoy-Epagny where you walk along the castle park and admire this "folly" in its green setting. Take the Chaussée Brunehaut towards the woods of Berny and Jumel. Then you head towards Guyencourt sur Noye, bypass the Bois du Roi to go back up to Cottenchy. Its mill is one of the few to remain in such good condition in the Val de Noye. Cottenchy is also the cradle of a strange legend which says that Saint-Ulphe, after a sleepless night caused by the croaking of frogs, was unable to get up to go to church. She punished them by imposing silence on them forever. That is why since then, this little corner of nature has been known to be so charming and so quiet. Through woods and marshes, you arrive at Dommartin then continue your journey across the plain to reach Rouvrel and finally return to Berny sur Noye and the lake: ideal for picnics.
