Franconian Red Wine Hiking Trail - 5th stage from Klingenberg to Großheubach

On the Johannesweg we hike uphill on the left. After a while, the street turns into a path that now takes us through vineyards to a gate that protects the vines from wild damage. Along the forest edge we reach Röllfeld and continue downhill straight ahead. Urbanusstraße brings us to Oberlandstraße, which we follow left to Langgasse. On this street, we turn right to Gartenstraße, then turn left again. Gartenstraße ends at Himmelthaler Straße, which leads us left to the Kreuzkapelle, where we sharply turn right.

After crossing the Röllbach, we follow the path to a building of Stadtwerke Klingenberg. Here we go a few meters to the left, then immediately right again. At the next junction, we walk about 40 m to the right and then follow a path to the left. We reach another fork and choose the left option, which leads us uphill through a gate into the Restberg vineyard. At the end of the vineyard, we enter a bright pine forest.

Directly behind a wooden bench, a forest path branches off to the right, descending steeply. It leads into the Großheubach vineyard path, which we follow to the left. The road now passes many wine terraces in the direction of Großheubach. Shortly before Großheubach, we pass the Daniel's Cave on the left side.

Along this beautiful panoramic path, numerous benches invite you to rest. After about 2 km, we reach the vineyard of the State Hofkellerei Würzburg. This vineyard covers about 4 ha and is exclusively planted with red grapevines. We can now also see the Engelberg monastery. Via the Steigeweg, we reach the wine village Großheubach. At Fasanenallee, we turn right and reach another street, which is also part of Fasanenallee.

Here, we again turn right and follow the street to its end, where we take a gravel path to the left. At the end of the gravel path, we finally cross the Frankenring on our left and continue straight ahead on Frühlingsstraße to Röllfelder Straße. We follow Röllfelder Straße straight past the cemetery and then turn right. At the end of the street, Friedhofstraße leads us left to the church of Großheubach and straight ahead into the pedestrian zone Kirchstraße. At its end we turn left and walk towards the Old Town Hall of Großheubach.
