At the eastern edge of the Soier See runs the moor nature trail to three information stations. There, signs clearly explain the formation and importance of the moor for the region.
Bad Bayersoien is proud of its raised bogs – whose peat serves in limited extraction not only the spa operations, but the areas are also a tourist attraction since this raised bog under nature protection is very rare and only found in a few locations.
The path is intended not only to provide brief entertainment to visitors: Biologist Dr. Helmut Hermann wants to draw attention to the destruction of large moor areas and demands more sustainability for nature in general and especially for the valuable raised bogs. Hermann, who provided the texts for the signs, praises the 'ecosystem as a service provider'.
Raised bogs are important for climate, flood, and species protection.
From the parking lot in front of the Parkhotel am Soier See, follow the Kirmesauer Straße out of the village. Take the first possible right into the Hofweg.
After 200 meters, turn right again. Here begins the moor nature trail, which leads you straight ahead to the lakeshore. Follow the path to the right, counterclockwise around the lake. After another 150 meters, the path turns right back to the parking lot.
