After the comfortable ascent via the Soila Alm in beautiful and open terrain, the Laberhaus mountain inn invites you to take a break with outstanding panoramic views deep into the Alps. For many, this pause is urgently needed before the very steep descent with up to 42° gradient.
The tour route was created in 2015 as part of the "Environmentally Friendly Ski Mountaineering" project of the German Alpine Club, in cooperation with local representatives (forestry, hunting, and farmers).
Please do not enter or travel in the winter protection areas!
From the parking lot at the Laber cable car, first orient yourself along the cable car, a short way up the mountain, until you reach the forest road. Follow it along the Laine river until you reach Bärenbadflecken where you turn right and ascend through open terrain to the Soila Alm. From here, it becomes steeper and the ski touring route branches off the summer path to the right, over the ridge at Laberjoch, up to the Laberhaus.
You descend into the valley via the very steep north slope. The Laber north slope, with up to 42° gradient, proudly calls itself the "steepest official ski run in Germany" as it is also monitored by the avalanche commission. This descent is only for experienced skiers.
